WHAT IS NATIONAL PARENT INVOLVEMENT DAY?

National Parent Involvement Day is recognized the third Thursday in November.  This is a time that parents are given the opportunity to visit and volunteer at public schools.

WHY IS NATIONAL PARENT INVOLVEMENT DAY SO IMPORTANT?

When parents are actively involved, students perform better.  Schools that support partnerships with parents become better learning environments.  When parents are able to participate in decisions that affect students and are welcome, a relationship of trust is developed between home and school.  National Parent Involvement Day is the first step in engaging parents in a meaningful communication that will contribute influencing school policy makers that make decisions that affect many students.
